Castor Oil Derivatives
Castor Oil is a renewable polyol derived from pressing the seeds of the castor oil plant (Ricinus communis). Castor Oil is used in many applications including as a polyol to produce polyurethanes, as a biodegradable renewable base oil to produce lubricants, and as an industrial intermediate.
Castor Oil can be synthetically modified to produce a wide range of industrially important materials, including methyl 12-hydroxy stearate (methyl 12HSA), 12-hydroxy stearic acid (12HSA), hydrogenated castor oil, sebaceic acid, etc. TRiiSO has the ability to supply these and other castor oil derivatives on a case-by-case basis.
