Aliphatic Hydrocarbon Tackifier Resins
Aliphatic Hydrocarbon Tackifier Resins are thermoplastic resins that promote adhesion and tack in hot melt and pressure sensitive adhesives. These tackifying resins impact the final adhesive's color, stability, and odor. Formulators select the appropriate hydrocarbon tackifier resin for their application by considering the softening point, molecular weight, molecular weight distribution, and composition of the tackifier.
TRiiSO is proud to distribute Kolon Industries' Hikorez range of aliphatic hydrocarbon tackifier resins. The Hikorez hydrocarbon tackifier resins are aliphatic hydrocarbon resins. These products are higher in color than the Sukorez products. These products are soluble in primarily non-polar solvents, but are soluble in butyl acetate, end ethyl acetate. The Hikorez products can be characterized as having mid-low aromaticity
Hikorez resins are typically soluble in hexane, butyl acetate, carbon tetrachloride, toluene, tetrahydrofuran, benzene, chloroform, chlorobenzene, and carbon disulfide. Hikorez resins are partially soluble in ethyl acetate and are typically insoluble in methyl isobutyl ketone, isopropyl alcohol, methyl ethyl ketone, acetone, 1,4-dioxin, aniline, butyl alcohol, furfuryl alcohol, and methanol.
Additionally, Hikorez resins are typically compatible with linseed oil, soybean oil, tall oil, tricresyl phosphate, butyl benzyl phthalate, dioctyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate, gum rosin, tall oil rosin, ester gum, polyterpene, paraffin wax, microcrystalline wax, carnauba wax, polyethylene wax, natural rubber, butyl rubber, SIS block copolymer, SEBS block copolymer, amorphous polyalpha olefins, ethylene vinyl acetate, and is partially soluble in polystyrene, SBS block copolymers, and phenolic resins.
