Lubricant Antiwear (AW) Additives
Tri-iso distributes a wide range of antiwear (AW)) additives that allow formulators to produce high quality lubricants. Antiwear additives (AW additives) are lubricant components that chemically react with the metal surface to be protected, forming a lubricious sacrificial coating that protects the metal from wear under boundry lubrication conditions; Antiwear additives produce a surface that is harder than the unprotected base metal. Tri-iso distributes antiwear additives based on zinc dialkyldithiophosphates (ZDDP), and ashless dialkydithiophosphates, Moly compounds, phosphoric acid, bismuth carboxylates and nano-particulate potassium borate. Several of these antiwear additives are suitable for lubricants with incidental food contact and have been registered with NSF with an HX-1 approval. Full test reports on many of these additives are available to assist in the selection of the appropriate antiwear additive for your particular formulation.
